The Rebirth

The Rebirth will serve as a weekly venue for live entertainment. The success of this event will generate more opportunities for all Detroit entertainers including but with discretion, not limited to performance poets, spoken word artists, singers, musicians, comedians, etc. The Rebirth will also serve as an avenue for networking between Detroit businesses and entrepreneurs. The real beauty of this project is that it will create a better sense of community by bridging generational gaps as well as promoting unity between other entertainment and business venues. Within this development, Detroit will build an industry that supports our own entrepreneurs and entertainers, ultimately resulting in The Rebirth of the City.

Bio

I was born in Detroit, MI at the Boulevard hospital March 13, 1971.  I graduated from Cooley High School and Crockett Career and Technical Center.  I am a mother of two sons, Adonis age 15, and Charles age 11.  They can be a handful at times, but have you ever met a teenager or boy that wasn’t.  My hobbies are dancing, cooking, and writing.  I also enjoy long walks, and watching the moon as it dances on the water like shimmering pennies. My favorite color is red, although you may often see me in black, because it is very figure friendly.  I started writing rap and poetry as a teenager.  I stopped writing rap and poetry lived on.  I enjoy reading very much, and it doesn’t matter who the author is as long as the book is a good read.  Some of my favorite authors are, Michael Baisden, Terry McMillan, and Dennis Reed II.   I love to cook, and my favorite food is lobster and Alaskan king crab legs.  I am pleased to announce I have written two books my first book was titled, True Souls Talk and my second book is titled Confessions of the Soul.  Please take the opportunity to allow my poetry to warm your heats and touch your souls.  I feel that these poems are blessings from God, and I hope that you will be blessed and comforted by them.
